The National Skills Test (NST) is a national-level entry test by Tata Indian Institute of Skills (Tata IIS). It provides students, first-time job seekers, and eligible working professionals seeking upskilling a fair, transparent, and merit-based pathway into skill-based learning and career opportunities.

No. NST does not require coaching or syllabus-based preparation. It is designed to assess aptitude and learning readiness, not rote memorisation.

NST registration fees start at ₹99, with different fee categories applicable based on qualification, gender, and reservation criteria.
(The registration/assessment fee is non-refundable and is separate from program fees.)Once a candidate qualifies NST and receives an admission offer, program fees are paid in stages (installments) depending on the program duration:
An admission confirmation fee is paid first and is adjusted against the total program fee. Detailed instalment timelines are shared at the time of admission.
